Your Life Went The Way It Was Supposed To

by Lonnie Mackley

GE 40:23 The chief cupbearer, however, did not remember Joseph; he forgot him.

There are many of you reading this right now that could have accomplished great things in this world and gone very far, but for some strange reason these pursuits always eluded you and stayed just out of your grasp. This was no mistake my friend. You see, God has had to restrict you from certain career paths and even certain relationships that would have likely distracted and prevented you from later walking in the better calling that He had for your life.

GE 41:55 When all Egypt began to feel the famine, the people cried to Pharaoh for food. Then Pharaoh told all the Egyptians, "Go to Joseph and do what he tells you."

Joseph had tremendous potential to do many things in life, but each time that something seemed to be working out for him something would always happen that thwarted his goals to have his own way. You too could have risen to accomplish many things in life, but at what cost? There are many people in these last days that will need your unique ministry and if God had not restricted you, and if he let you have your own way, they would have lost you.

ISA 46:10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.

I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.

So if you are sitting here at the end of your wilderness time right now looking at your life like it's one big failure, then you are completely wrong. Being restricted by God and failing are two different things, and instead of getting mad at God for what didn't happen you should be thanking Him because you have not seen the end yet my friend, and your finish is going to be so much more rewarding and gratifying than anything you could have built by yourself.

LK 18:29 "I tell you the truth," Jesus said to them, "no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God 30 will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life."

Jesus wasn't kidding around or exaggerating when He told us that we must be prepared to sacrifice everything we love and value in order to follow His plan. You may not feel like you have accomplished that much in life so far, but walking by faith is the best gift that you can give to God. Trust that the plan God has for your life will pan out as you cooperate with what He asks of you, and that in the end His way will work out in the best case scenario for you. Be encouraged, empowerment is at the door now and your detours are about to end!

JER 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
