Resting, Waiting, and Willing.


There are times in our Christian walk where God shuts everything down and just wants us to stop what we are doing and maintain a posture of resting, waiting, and being willing to do whatever He wants us to do next. You may be in one of these times right now where things seem flat spiritually and you feel like a person in a small boat out on the sea with no wind or sense of direction. But if you will surrender to this process rather than struggle and strive, then peace will finally come for you.

So you have a choice right now, you can either freak out and throw a fit which will just get you and those around you upset, or you can sit down and yield to whatever God is trying to speak to you and do in your life next. Many of us are activity-holics like Martha, when all God really needs from us is just to sit down, stop whining and complaining, and be like Mary just listening and waiting at Jesus’ feet. Try to enjoy this time and the sooner you rest and submit, the sooner breakthrough will come.

ISA 30:15a This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength…
